Ron Sheffer

Ron Sheffer has two decades of experience working in community-based nonprofits as a dedicated advocate and strategic thinker.

 Ron is the Executive Director of Literacy Volunteers of Central Connecticut, which provides no-cost adult and family literacy programs in 15 towns. He leads the organization’s strategic planning and fundraising while managing a dedicated, talented staff team.

 Prior to working at LVCC, Ron was a manager at the Homeless Children’s Playtime Project in Washington, D.C., where he oversaw guided play programs with educational and therapeutic benefits for children experiencing homelessness and trauma. 

 While in DC, Ron also managed adult education programs and a citywide literacy mentoring program that connected members of Congress and other DC professionals with 450 elementary students.

 A graduate of Alaska Pacific University, Ron enjoys traveling and the outdoors, trying new foods, and watching sports with his wife, Christina.
