For Volunteers

Queen Ann Nzinga Center builds an intergenerational community of support around youth, empowering them to thrive as successful adults. We invite you to embrace the Kwanzaa value of Ujima (collective responsibility) and join our community! We have a diverse range of volunteer opportunities including:

  • Professional skills: We are seeking volunteers with skills in social media management, marketing, or photography/videography to help us expand our capacity in these areas.

  • Saturday program: Calling all volunteers who love working with kids! We are looking for a few folks to help us run our 3-hour Saturday Watoto youth program, which includes humanities discussions, arts programming, and development of positive relationship-building skills.

  • Event volunteers: For those who cannot commit to weekly engagements but still want to help out, we are seeking volunteers to help out at our performances, including sell tickets, seat guests, organize vendors, count audience members, handle surveys, and set up our information booth.

  • Transportation: We are seeking volunteers to drive our participants without transport to and from our program sessions, on Saturdays and sometimes during the week.

  • Food: Love to cook? We are looking for someone to provide nutritious food during our weekly Saturday program. There may also be opportunities to cook for our larger performances and events.

Your community is waiting for you!

Let us know you’re interested in volunteering!
