A Note from the Executive Director

I have always believed in the goodness of humanity. I believe that when we pour into our young people, they discover who they are, recognize their gifts, and grow with pride and purpose. Every child enters this world with unlimited potential. It is our responsibility—as families, educators, artists, and community members—to create spaces where they are safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.

For more than 30 years, Queen Ann Nzinga Center, Inc. has remained rooted in the Afrocentric vision of Dr. Molefi Kete Asante and the principles, symbols, and values of Kwanzaa as developed by Dr. Maulana Karenga. Through the arts, music, culture, and community, we help children and youth develop confidence, character, creativity, and a strong sense of identity.

As we prepare for another exciting program year, we remain steadfast in our values while embracing growth. We have strengthened our systems and operations to better serve our families and are looking forward to expanding opportunities for children, youth, and teens. Our commitment remains the same: to nurture the next generation with excellence, purpose, and love.

This summer, while our regular programs are on pause, we invite you to stay connected. Whether you choose to volunteer, become a sponsor, support our programs, or simply share our story, you are helping us build a stronger future for our young people.

Thank you for believing in our mission. We look forward to welcoming you back for an inspiring new season.  "Together, we are cultivating a generation that knows its worth, honors its heritage, and leads with humanity."

With gratitude,

Dayna R. Snell, LCSW
